What I can offer

Non-judgmental conversations and personalised sessions to help you move forward. I know that each client is different, and I will use the most suitable hypnotherapy methods according to your needs, to help you attain the outcome that you desire.

What can hypnotherapy help with?

It has the capacity to work for most people though some are more open to suggestion than others. It`s important to keep an open mind as well as a willingness to change.

It accesses and disrupts the negative programmes running in the subconscious mind.

Hypnotherapy can help manage and even overcome a vast number of issues and conditions. It can lead to transformative change in areas such as –

· Anxiety and depression
· Fears and phobias – e.g. fear of flying, fear of the dentist
· Bad habits and addictions
· Weight loss
· Smoking cessation
· Chronic pain
· Eczema
· IBS
· Confidence issues
· Tics

“As you sow in your subconscious mind, so shall you reap in your body and environment.”

Some History

Hypnotherapy in some form is many thousands of years old though the actual term `hypnotism` was coined by Scottish surgeon and philosopher, James Braid in 1841.

Ancient Egypt and Greece refer to trance and hypnosis in early writings. Hypnos is the Greek word for sleep though the client is not actually asleep.

Wong Tai , a father of Chinese medicine, wrote in 2600 BC about techniques that involved incantations and passes of the hands. Shamanism, Druidism, Voodoo and Yoga use trance-like states in their practices.

In modern history, James Braid, was attracted to `Mesmersim` though he developed this into what we know today as Hypnosis. Around this time, Frenchman Emile Coue believed that Hypnotism helped people to heal themselves and that the Hypnotherapist was the facilitator.

At the beginning of the 20th century, a psychotherapist called Milton Erickson, MD (1901-80) found numerous ways to help heal people and became a master of `indirect hypnosis`. His methods are often used today.
